First Job Survival Skills- Surviving the First 90 Days
(18 videos and 6 guidebooks) Teaches youth how to get off to a good start on the job. Deals with topics such as: a positive work ethic, workplace manners and boundaries, learning and doing the job, and honesty at work.
Becoming Job Smart 1&2
(6 videos, 2 guidebooks) Teaches youth behaviors and basics of getting a job, getting along with co-workers and satisfying the boss. Shows how to approach work with the enthusiasm that will gain respect. Also focuses on job safety skills.
Learn and Earn- Tips for Teens
(video) High school students with disabilities tell their story and how they gain from learning a job while working.
Attainment Company- School to Work Videos
(3 videos) Shows young people with different disabilities at their jobs. Includes interviews with people with disabilities (for example: DD, LD, CP), job coaches and employers on how to make the job possible and fit for the employee. Deals with transportation to work and with getting to work independently.
YES! - A Self-Directed Job Preference Program
(7 CD ROMs, one facilitator’s manual) The CD ROM's include videos of 120 jobs; it is reading free and is designed for youth and adults with disabilities. The participant selects preferred jobs that later could be used to guide transition planning, job sampling, and training activities.
Everyone Can Work
(video) A look at success in supported employment. Interviews with all the major players in a supported employment: job coaches, family, employers and supported employees. This is a very strong video that shows that work can be possible for people with a variety of disabilities- physical, developmental, and hard of hearing, even if the disability is severe.

Youth learns cooperative living skills needed to successfully live with others. Teaches how to solve domestic conflicts, and how to cooperate in order to successfully live with others.

A sex education program for persons with developmental and learning disabilities. Includes information about parts of the body, sexual life cycle, human reproduction, birth control and sexually transmitted diseases.
Life Horizons 2

Focuses on attitudes and behaviors that promote good relationships and responsible sexual behavior. Includes information about building self-esteem, the different aspects of sexual behavior, dating skills, marriage, parenting and preventing sexual abuse.
My Community
(CD-ROM)
Teaches children and young adults appropriate social behaviors, interactions, expectations and safety precautions with peers and adults within their community. This CD incorporates real people interacting in settings such as: a restaurant, doctor’s office, friend’s house, grocery store and neighborhood.
Documentary Films and Future Planning Skills
My Future My Plan
(video) This documentary video shows the story of three students with disabilities (two with Learning Disabilities and one with Down Syndrome). It follows them through out high school and shows how they plan their future towards graduation.
Graduating Peter (video)
This documentary film shows the journey of a student with severe disabilities (as a result of Down Syndrome) and his family through middle school and high school. The family's struggle to build the best future for their son and their planning for life after high school.
The Power of Independence- The Value of Living Independently (video)
This video expresses the value of living independently as told in their own words by a variety of people with disabilities (physical disabilities and developmental disabilities).

Person Centered Planning with MAPS and PATH (book)
This book was developed over time as a collection of handouts for a three-day course teaching MAPS and PATH (person centered planning techniques). It is excellent for training purposes; students, workshops - as well as an updated person centered planning resource.
PATH Training Video

This video takes the viewer through the steps of PATH, a person-centered planning technique. PATH was designed to deal with complex issues for individuals, families, and organizations. It is a sharp and powerful tool that gets people to doable first steps. There are 8 steps that involve "thinking backwards ".
Miller’s MAP

Miller Cairns was in grade six when this video was made. She is a child who does not speak much, but she and her friends get together to plan her curriculum. The teacher, the principal, Miller's mom and dad and other friends join in to create a MAP (person centered plan) for Miller.
Dream Catchers

Using the Dream Catcher as their metaphor, this short and inspiring film gets at the essence of helping people recapture their lost dreams and start to build Circles of Friends/Support. Three young adults, Matt, Angie and Lisa (with developmental disabilities and CP), plan and dream for the future with their families and circles.
All Means ALL

The video shows a beginning Circle of Friends in a Canadian high school setting, goes through the MAPS person-centered planning process, and has a moving PATH person centered planning process done in New Mexico with a parent and her school team.
