Yesodot Event - Transition & Vocational Planning Workshop
Part 1 in a Series: Transition to the Adult World of Work, Social Services, and Benefits
Thursday, September 14th
6:45 - 9:15 pm

Speakers Katie Zachary, MSW - Employment Specialist, JVS Center for Careers and Lifelong Learning & Leslie Ostrow, PhD - Yesodot Family Support & TRANSITIONS Coordinator

First in a series of four workshops that deal with transition to the adult world of work and social services. Planning for Transition and leaving school for the adult world of work is a particularly challenging time for young people with disabilities and their families, which calls for support and extensive prior planning. At this workshop attendees will receive a Transition checklist and resource packet, and learn how to begin preparing for this milestone. They will discuss recent changes to IDEA relating to Transition, and gain practical information about vocational planning in order to prepare for the employment/volunteer needs of their child with a disability.

Leventhal-Sidman JCC, 333 Nahanton St., Newton Centre, MA 02459
