Many young people derive confidence and fulfillment through their experiences in the work force. This workshop will seek to address questions and concerns that families might have about their teens and young adults entering into the working world, options for employment, and expectations for both employers and young employees with disabilities. Work may mean full employment, part-time work, or volunteering; there is a continuum of employment service/supports available to make a job experience successful. Day programs will also be explored. Like the housing workshop, this is an introduction, and a list of questions will be created for a further follow-up program next year.
Speaker Anne Chace is a Senior Employment Specialist at JVS, and coordinates the Project With Industry program, "Independence Through Employment". She received her MSW from Boston University and previously worked for over six years with the Boston-area One Stop Career Centers, in addition to several years at a non-profit agency, where she assisted individuals with disabilities to find suitable employment.
Yesodot is pleased to announce two additional speakers from DMR & MRC have been added to out Employment 101 Panel.
