2:00-3:30 PM. Enjoy the great outdoors and
come apple picking at Marino Lookout Farm in Natick, the
oldest continuously working farm in the country. After apple
picking enjoy a petting zoo, a hay maze, and a bee observatory
(not recommended for those with bee allergies) on your own.
Accessibility: While terrain at a farm can be uneven, the
orchard areas are “pedestrian orchards” and relatively
flat. All apple pickers must take a train out to the orchard
and the train accommodates wheelchairs. There are portable
accessible restrooms near the orchards. An additional caterpillar
train cannot accommodate wheelchairs. It is unclear about
the accessibility of the hay maze.
Yesodot families should
meet at the train circle at the main entrance at 2:00 PM
sharp. Cost: Yesodot will pay for the train ride out to
the orchard for those who pre-register; families are responsible
for paying for their own apples and bags (prices vary)
and
for additional activities such as pony rides and the caterpillar
train. RSVP by 10/5 to director@yesodot.org For directions
or for more information go to http://www.lookoutfarm.com Weather cancellation information available on 10/11 from
noon on by calling (617) 399-3299.
If not us, who? If not now, when? Adult Yesodot members are invited to join the Jewish community
and over 500 volunteers to raise funds for people in need in Greater Boston, in Israel and around the world.
Non-phoning volunteer opportunities will be available. 9:00 AM-5:00 PM. Yesodot families are invited to participate
in family tzedakah activities from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM. As in past years, we will try to have a room for Yesodot
families to relax in. Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center, Newton. RSVP by 10/14 to director@yesodot.org
