Yesodot families are invited to join Ventures
Into Well-Being and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation
and Recreation Universal Access Program, on the trail at Walden
Pond State Reservation in Concord. Assistive equipment and
teamwork help people of all abilities access conventional
hiking trails at a leisurely pace. Adaptive equipment includes
Terra Trek manual wheelchairs, baby joggers, walkers, crutches,
and gait belts. Spaces limited to first 15-20 people to sign
up.
Begin your walk at a replica of Thoreau's
cabin while a ranger leads a tour and provides some history.
Then travel to the pond...enjoy Thoreau's books...visit the
original site of the cabin. The exact time of
day we meet will depend on group consensus so RSVP early with
a time preference so that I can share the information with
group leaders. RSVP by 5/14 at the latest to
reserve your space by e-mailing director@yesodot.org
and include a description of mobility issues/needs and time
preference.
For more information about the program, and
to learn more about the specific adapted equipment available,
contact Brenda Kennedy, and let her know that you are a Yesodot
family. (413) 259-0009 or brendakennedy100@myfreei.com
Free to paid up Yesodot members; other Yesodot members $25/family.
For all ages.
