3/2 Effective Developing Public Awareness: Practical Tips for Citizen Lobbyists/Meeting With the Other Greater Boston Governing Boards

During times of government belt tightening it is more challenging for groups like Yesodot to successfully advocate for funding. Yesodot members and supporters need to know how to employ effective advocacy techniques. This is a workshop with the other Boston area family governing boards (family support programs like Yesodot) funded by DMR. It will be led by lobbyist, Mary Lou Maloney (ARC Massachusetts) who has a wealth of experience representing the needs of people with disabilities before the Massachusetts legislature. (2:30-5:00 PM. Latino Health, 95 Berkley St., Boston) This is the second part of our legislative advocacy series.

3/30 Magic Ark Performance: Reading Rainbow

Presented by Theatreworks USA. The little girl who wakes up with antlers on her head, the dog who can't stop speaking after consuming a can of alphabet soup and other endearing characters leap from the pages of beloved children's books in this lively musical revue. Reading Rainbow brings these popular books: Amazing Grace, Applemando's Dreams, Borreguita and the Coyote, Imogene's Antlers, Martha Speaks, Math Curse and Owen, to life. Join other Yesodot Families at 1: 00 PM at the Leventhal-Sidman JCC in Newton for a wonderful afternoon together. Free tickets available for the first 30 people to sign-up. Yesodot families' attendance at Reading Rainbow is made possible through the generosity of Drs. Carolyn and Leonard Lilly.
