Yesodot is a lifeline for Boston Jews challenged by disability, maximizing potential and building community foundations ("yesodot") for children and young adults by empowering their families through an extensive and varied menu of innovative support programs. Yesodot is unique in its approach, providing family-centered and directed support based on needs identified by the families themselves.
Founded to fill an unmet need, Yesodot began almost six years ago with one parent gathering together a small group of interested families to create a community of mutual support. Yesodot has grown into a strong, vibrant program serving more than 175 member families from 35 cities and towns in Greater Boston. Yesodot holds approximately two programs a month, twelve months a year, for families whose children and young adults have developmental, physical or learning disabilities, autism, mental illness, or other disabilities.
Yesodot provides
support through parent and sibling groups, intensive family services, family recreational outings, and educational workshops for parent
practical tools and skills to support children and young adults to reach their fullest potential
programs for young people transitioning from high school; information about the latest technologies for empowering people with disabilities
public awareness activities to foster community inclusion.
Yesodot is grateful to our institutional supporters. However, Yesodot also relies on the generosity of individuals and foundations in order to provide our programs. Grants and donations from foundations and individuals enable Yesodot to offer greater enrichment and meaning to the lives of our families and enable Yesodot to offer much greater enrichment and meaning to the lives of its families.
You can join us by investing in our mission. Your generous contribution will make a difference to our families.
