Yesodot

Yesodot's mission is to maximize the potential and build community foundations ("yesodot" is Hebrew for foundations) for children and young adults with disabilities in the metro Boston area. Yesodot welcomes Jewish and interfaith families.  Yesodot is a family-centered and family-directed support program that provides a varied menu of services and programs to families whose loved ones have developmental, physical, learning or other disabilities.

Over 200 families from over 62 cities and towns in Greater Boston currently benefit from Yesodot’s services. We provide parent and sibling support; family recreational outings; educational workshops; information and resources; programs for young people transitioning from high school, and information on assistive technology. Yesodot participates in public awareness activities and collaborates to foster community inclusion. Yesodot also has a project with Boston’s sister city, Haifa, Israel.

Yesodot is a service of JVS, (Jewish Vocational Service - for information regarding JVS, please visit their website by clicking on the link provided), a nonsectarian, nonprofit organization and an agency of Combined Jewish Philanthropies. Yesodot's founding families chose to affiliate with JVS because of its longstanding commitment to individuals with disabilities.

JVS, is a non-sectarian, non-profit, 501 (c)(3) community agency which provides a wide range of workforce development services to the Greater Boston community.
